Ruhkala Community Service Awards Nominations

Submit a written statement outlining the community service contributions the nominee has made to the City of Rocklin. 

When completing a nomination, please include as much information as possible. If there is insufficient information provided, the nomination may be disqualified. 

The Community Recognition Commission will initially review nominations and make recommendations for awards to the City Council. 

General Eligibility Criteria for All Categories:

To be eligible to receive a Ruhkala Award, the nominee must: 

  • Not be a past recipient of a Ruhkala Award; and
  • Be a Rocklin resident or serving Rocklin residents; and
  • Be performing unpaid volunteer service, and not service that is part of regular paid job duties; and
  • Not currently be an elected official at any level, City employee, or City Commissioner

The Four Categories of Awards:

  • Individual or Couple: This annual award honors an individual or couple who have made significant contributions to the City of Rocklin through community service.
  • Business, Group or Service Organization: This annual award honors a business, group or service organization that has made significant contributions to the City of Rocklin through community service. 
  • Youth Award: This award honors an individual, 21 years old or younger, or a group or organization whose members are 21 years old or younger, that has made significant contributions to the City of Rocklin through community service. 
  • Pioneer Award: At the discretion of the City Council, the Pioneer award honors individuals who have, over an extended period of time, made significant contributions to the City of Rocklin through community service. This award is intended to recognize long-term commitment to the betterment of Rocklin.
