Rocklin City Council Declares Support for Big Day of Giving

Post

The Rocklin City Council encourages all Rocklin citizens to support of the Big Day of Giving by donating to a local non-profit close to their heart on Thursday May 4, 2017.

Close to 600 nonprofits throughout the region will participate in the BIG Day of Giving, 100 of which are located in Placer County and serve City of Rocklin residents.

Three leaders of hardworking non-profits making an impact and providing a sense of pride in the community were in attendance at the April 25 Council meeting, where the Council passed a resolution of support.

Placer Land Trust Board Member Doug Houston, Rocklin Residents United for Fido (RRUFF) founder Victoria Curtis, and Rocklin Historical Society member Hank Lohse are all examples of people giving back time and money to improve their community.

Amy Eubank of the Sacramento Region Community Foundation accepted the resolution on behalf of all non-profits in the area and was hopeful the Big Day of Giving will continue to raise the level of philanthropy in our region, adding to the more than $16 million raised over the past few years.

Residents interested in giving to the Placer land Trust, RRUFF, the Rocklin Historical Society or any other local non-profit, can pledge their donation today at www.BigDayofGiving.org or wait until May 4 to get in on the fun.
