Seismic Design Category

To be determined in accordance with California Building Code Section 1613 or ASCE 7. Seismic Design Category can be defaulted to “D” where the structure’s Occupancy Category is I, II, or III ( per CBC Table 1604.5) and for building sites with no problem foundation subgrade materials including but not limited to Site Class E or F (per CBC Table 1613.5.2), unstable hill side, unconsolidated fill, disturbed subgrade, organic fill or expansive material.
