The City of Rocklin, in partnership with the Rocklin Unified School District (RUSD), is excited to announce the launch of the Student Art in City Hall Program. This initiative, created by the Rocklin Arts Commission, offers local students the chance to showcase their artistic talents in a public space. The program will feature rotating exhibitions of student artwork in the foyer outside the City Council Chambers, bringing the creativity of Rocklin’s young artists into the heart of the community.

The Student Art in City Hall Program aims to highlight the artistic abilities of students in across Rocklin. By displaying these works in City Hall, the program provides a unique opportunity for students to have their art viewed by the public, fostering an appreciation for the arts and encouraging creative expression within our community.

The first exhibit in the Student Art in City Hall Program features the talented 5th-grade students from Sierra Elementary. These young artists explored the theme of El Árbol de la Vida (Tree of Life), using the symbol of a tree to represent growth, connection, and cultural significance. Their vibrant and thoughtful interpretations of this theme are a testament to the creativity and imagination of Rocklin’s youth.

The City extends its heartfelt thanks to the Rocklin Unified School District and the Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA) program teachers for their collaboration in bringing this program to life. The Student Art in City Hall Program is an exciting way for our community to engage with the arts, and we look forward to seeing the program grow and inspire future generations of artists.

Stop by City Hall to view the current exhibit and enjoy the impressive artwork from our local students. With each new rotation, there will always be fresh pieces to explore, celebrating the talent and creativity of Rocklin’s young artists.
