October 2024 Declared Hindu Heritage Month in Rocklin

During Tuesday evening’s Rocklin City Council meeting, Councilmembers approved a proclamation declaring October as Hindu Heritage Month while recognizing the Festival of Diwali.

Rocklin is home to a vibrant Hindu community and the Hindu heritage, culture, traditions and values have enriched our diverse city. During the month of October 2024, the Hindu community across the state of California will collectively celebrate Hindu Heritage, providing an opportunity to focus on Hindu culture. 

Members of Celebrate India and other groups were present to accept this proclamation.

Updates To Rocklin Municipal Code Approved

Council approved of updates to the Rocklin Municipal Code regarding the establishment of service fees. 

Each year, City staff conducts a comprehensive service fee study to review and update service fees. The objective is to determine the actual costs of providing City services. Key revisions to the ordinance include: 

  • City Council will periodically review all services and associated fees provided by City departments and make necessary adjustments to ensure appropriate fees and charges are applied.
  • New language clarifies that all new or increased fees shall be established by resolution of the City Council and eliminates the list of fees.

Maverik Landscape Agreement

City of Rocklin has executed a landscape maintenance agreement with Maverik Inc., a fuel supplier in Rocklin.

As a part of the Maverik, Inc. project, the developer has agreed to maintain the City-owned landscape area within the City-owned right-of-way along the Maverik, Inc. perimeter, located on Sunset Boulevard. This agreement will provide benefits to both the developer and the City.
