Proclamation Declaring April 6-12 as National Library Week

The City Council presented a proclamation declaring April 6-12, 2025, as National Library Week in Rocklin. The week will celebrate the invaluable role libraries play in fostering creativity, lifelong learning, and civic engagement. Libraries are vital community hubs that provide equitable access to books, digital tools, and innovative programming.

Rocklin residents are encouraged to visit the Rocklin Library to explore its resources and celebrate the theme, “Drawn to the Library.” The City acknowledges the critical impact libraries have on job seekers, entrepreneurs, and young minds, and recognizes the dedicated library workers who support these efforts.

Appointments to the Board of Appeals and Investment Advisory Committee

The City Council made key appointments to two important advisory bodies:

  • Board of Appeals
    Eric D. Feller was appointed to serve a four-year term on the Board of Appeals, expiring June 30, 2026.
  • Investment Advisory Committee
    Satish Hatti and Joseph M. Ciccolo (Alternate Member) were both appointed to serve two-year terms on the Investment Advisory Committee, with terms expiring June 30, 2027.

These appointments are crucial in ensuring that Rocklin’s boards and committees have knowledgeable and dedicated members to support decision-making processes.

Recognition of the 2024 Leadership Award and Employee of the Year

The City Council also recognized the recipients of the 2024 Leadership Award and Employee of the Year Award. The honorees’ contributions were celebrated, acknowledging their hard work and commitment to excellence.

Fire Department Annual Report and Outlook

The Rocklin Fire Department presented its annual report, highlighting key accomplishments and future goals of the department.

Items highlighted include the department’s response to 6,302 calls for service in 2024. This marked a 1.3% increase in calls from the previous year, with approximately 90% of the incidents related to medical, good intent, and service calls.

Some key accomplishments from the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Division included the establishment of the Excellence in EMS Award, which recognizes outstanding patient care. A crew on A-Shift received the award for saving a patient who suffered a sudden cardiac arrest and later made a full recovery—coming back to thank the crew for their efforts. Additionally, Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) were installed at all City buildings, with staff receiving training on their use to help increase the chances of survival in cases of sudden cardiac arrest.

Looking ahead, the Fire Department will be acquiring new cardiac monitors to further enhance patient care in 2025. The department continues to prioritize the health and safety of Rocklin residents through constant improvements and training.
