Y&T is one of the unsung pioneers of the hard rock and heavy metal scene, with roots going back to the early 1970s. 

Y&T (originally known as Yesterday & Today) predated and influenced many of the bands that would later define the hard rock and metal scenes of the 1980s.  The band’s high-energy performances and dedication to their craft helped them develop a loyal fanbase, and their influence is acknowledged in the memoirs of major rock acts from that era.
