Exceptions for Commercial Projects

A building permit may not be required for all commercial projects.

New State Code 
Effective January 1, 2014

All new permit submittals received on or after 
January 1, 2014 will be required to meet the new 
2013 California Building Standards Codes which are based on the International Building Codes.

The adopted text for the new code may be viewed at the California Building Standards Commission’s website under the “2013 Triennial Edition (effective January 1, 2014)” link.
